  • Durham Markets

    The Outdoor Market reopened on 13th June and the Thursday Farmers’ Markets have also restarted. 

    The indoor market is due to open soon.

    Remember that there are a number of independent retailers in the Market ready and able to deliver things like food and other essentials in Durham. (25 Mar only 2 food retailers delivering) Find more details here:

  • Self isolation signs

    CitySafe have hundreds of self-isolation signs to be distributed around Durham and the north east. They can be contacted on 07594253313 24/7

  • NextDoor Durham - community help and support

    NextDoor is an online community neighbourhood group, set up with the aim of connecting neighbours and building communities. If you join, you’ll find messages from local people offering to help those in social isolation by shopping, dog walking etc. You can access it online or via an app on your mobile device. There’s even a new group which has just been set up called Durham City Sing Outside! https://nextdoor.co.uk

  • Parking In Durham from 29th June 2020

    Parking charges will be reintroduced at all Council and on street parking from 29th June 2020. 

    The Park and Ride services at Belmont and Sniperley will also reopen then, all customers on the buses will have to wear a face covering. Howlands P&R will remain as a Park and Stride site

    Riverview carpark is free of charge until the end of August. 

    We understand the bus station is now open


  • Durham Locate - help and support

    If you don’t have a family member, friend or neighbour who can collect shopping, medicines or just have a chat, there are a number of organisations and groups in the local area who can support you at this difficult time


  • NHS First Responders

    If you’ve been accepted as a NHS first responder/Volunteer you may wish to join this Facebook group for responders in the NE to have an informal way to keep in touch.

  • County Durham Volunteering Unit

    A new volunteering unit has been set up in County Durham to provide more support to local organisations and charities during the coronavirus pandemic.It will provide a central location where organisations needing additional help or practical resources can go to register that need.The aim of the unit is to help manage offers of support from businesses and individuals who have volunteered their services and resources in County Durham.
