Durham Coach Meet and Greet Service for 2024
This service will run from Easter 2024 until early Oct 2024. Booked coaches may also be met between Oct 2024 and April 2025 (and Jan - Mar 2024), subject to volunteer availability.
The Durham City Pointers are delighted to offer our Coach Meet and Greet service. We will normally meet pre-booked coaches arriving between 9.30am and 11.30am but we may be able to meet coaches at other times depending on volunteer availability.
This service can be booked by calling 07582332621, emailing coaches@durhampointers.co.uk with your company name, driver name, contact number, date and time of arrival and approx number of passengers or by completing the form on this page.
If you can give 24 hours notice it would be appreciated, but if that is not possible we will do our best to accommodate you.
If you have booked a Meet and Greet service our volunteers in their distinctive pink tabards will meet your coach at the Coach Drop Off point. They will board your coach, give a warm welcome to your passengers, explain how to get to the city centre and advise them of any special events in the City that day. They will also offer passengers a free Durham Pointers map and information leaflet and will answer any questions they may have.
Coach drop off point
Durham County Council have changed the location of the coach drop off point from Freeman’s Place (DH1 1SL) to Framwellgate Waterside (DH1 5TA). The new location has been signposted on the approach roads. The Cathedral shuttle bus has also been rerouted to Framwellgate Waterside. From now on we will meet any coaches that have booked the Meet and Greet service at Framwellgate Waterside outside the Radisson Hotel.
Coach Parking
The Coach Park is 10 mins drive away at Belmont Park and Ride on the A690, approximately 300 metres east of Junction 62 of the A1(M), postcode DH1 1SR. Further information is available here.
